Ten airbags

Avalon comes standard with a total of ten airbags, including a driver and front passenger Advanced Airbag System, driver and front passenger seat-mounted side airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, rear seat-mounted side airbags and front and rear side curtain airbags.

Blind Spot Monitor

The available Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) helps identify vehicles that you may not see when changing lanes or backing out of a parking space by illuminating a warning signal on the correct outside mirror.

Star Safety System^™

Avalon comes standard with the Star Safety System™, a suite of six advanced safety features designed to help keep you out of harm’s way. The system includes Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Anti-lock Brake System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, and Smart Stop Technology^®.

Whiplash-Injury-Lessening seats

Avalon’s front seats are engineered to yield in a controlled manner in certain rear-end collisions, helping to reduce the risk of neck injuries.

Safety Connect^®

With available Safety Connect^®, emergency Roadside Assistance, Stolen Vehicle Locator and Automatic Collision Notification are available when you need them through Toyota’s 24/7 call center.
